Ridgeway Methodist Church runs a regular programme of events designed to bring new people into the Church community. Since the start of 2004, our outreach programme has been concentrated on trying to bring in more young adults in the 20-40 age group - the "missing generation" - although we are always happy to welcome any newcomers to the Church. In 2009, the "Outreach" programme was renamed "Local Mission", to emphasise the work that it aims to do in our local community in Plympton.
To aid this work, we have had an outreach worker funded by the Plymouth and Devonport Circuit from January 2004 until August 2006. James Darby was with us from January 2004 until July 2005, and from September 2005 Catherine Stead continued this work, having been appointed for twelve months on a part-time basis. From September 2006 the Outreach programme has been the responsibility of a group of people within the church community.
