OTHER ACTIVITIES

Many other activities take place at Ridgeway Methodist Church during the course of the week, including Men's Fellowship, a Parent and Toddler group, Patchwork Group, coffee mornings and badminton and walking groups. Details of many of there are available below, use the links below to skip to a particular group. For more information about any of these groups or events please contact the church.

MEN'S FELLOWSHIP

Our Men's Fellowship group is run jointly by Ridgeway and Elburton Methodist Churches. The group meets every two weeks, monthly at Ridgeway and also monthly at Elburton. Meetings take place on Tuesday evenings, usually the second Tuesday of the month at Ridgeway, at 7:30pm. There is always a visiting speaker as well as a time of fellowship. The upcoming schedule can be seen below.

PARENT AND TODDLER GROUP

During term-time, the Church organises a Parent and Toddler Group which meets on Tuesdays and Fridays. Fees are £1.20 per session, and we provide tea, coffee, orange squash and biscuits. Second cups are available, but there will be a small charge! We are able to provide changing facilities for babies. Children can now join the church Pre-School from the age of 2½, but once they reach the age of 3 years unfortunately we will not be able to accommodate them at Parent and Toddler.

PATCHWORK GROUP

On Tuesday mornings from 10:00am until 12:00pm our Patchwork Group meet in the Church Lounge. As well as being an opportunity for fellowship, the group has made several banners which can be seen in the Church. The group also made a banner for a school in Malawi as part of a renovation project supported by Ridgeway School. Photos of the banners which are in the hall and the crèche and the banner in Malawi can be seen by clicking on the thumbnails below.

OTHER GROUPS

Various daytime activities take place in the Church during the week. On Saturday mornings our OASIS Coffee Bar is open from 10:00am until 12:00pm in the lower hall. Money raised often goes towards Church funds but we support many other activities through the Coffee Bar as well. At these events as well as on Sunday mornings fairly traded tea and coffee is used, and fairly traded products are also available at the OASIS Coffee Bar from the Traidcraft stall.

Coffee is also served from 10:00am on a Wednesday as well, in the upper hall, and is followed from 12:00pm by cooked lunches. The Church has a badminton group, which meets on a Friday afternoon to play in the Church Hall, and we also organise monthly Dartmoor Walks on Saturdays.

For more information on any of the events at the Church please contact us.
