Ridgeway Methodist Church is in a prominent location within the town of Plympton, and is relatively simple to reach by either public or private transport. Regular bus services to Plympton from the centre of the city of Plymouth all pass through the Ridgeway, stopping only about a minute's walk from the Church. Service numbers which pass through the Ridgeway include 20, 21 and 51. From the bus stop on the Ridgeway the Church lies slightly further up the road, on the junction with Mudge Way.

When travelling to Plympton by car, most visitors will use either the Marsh Mills or Deep Lane junctions of the A38, which lie at either end of the Plympton By-Pass. Ridgeway Methodist Church can easily be reached from either junction. The church does not have its own car park but there are two public car parks close by, one of which, long stay, is next to the lower entrance. This latter car park is used by the majority of the congregation on a Sunday. Parking in these public car parks is free, and the directions below are for reaching the car park next to the lower entrance.

From Marsh Mills: Travel along the B3416 through Plympton until you reach the St. Mary's Bridge mini roundabout, and there take the second exit up the hill towards the Ridgeway shopping centre, past St. Mary's Church on the right. Going straight ahead at two mini roundabouts, turn right shortly after the second between Plympton Health Centre and the Rees Youth Centre. Following the road round to the left, you will reach the free car park next to the Church.

From Deep Lane: Having left the A38, turn right at the top of the slip road towards Plympton. At the roundabout, turn left and continue on that road until reaching a mini roundabout. Go straight on at that mini roundabout, and down the hill towards the Ridgeway shopping centre. At the next mini roundabout, turn left and you will pass the Church to your left. To reach the free car park, follow the road round to the right and then turn left after the Rees Youth centre, then following the road to the left to the car park.
